A wideband lambda sensor is a device used to measure the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine. Unlike narrowband sensors, wideband lambda sensors are designed to provide a much more accurate measurement of the air-fuel ratio across a wide range of values, rather than being limited to detecting values near the stoichiometric ratio (lambda = 1 or AFR = 14.7).
