A wideband lambda (or wideband oxygen) sensor is a device used to measure the concentration of oxygen in the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine. Unlike narrowband lambda sensors, wideband lambda sensors are designed to provide a much more precise measurement of the air-fuel ratio over a wide range of values, rather than being limited to a ratio close to stoichiometric (lambda = 1 or AFR=14.7).
